Dark!Germany x Reader: Just a Bad Dream part 4

You all thought about it for a while, and you finally got everything through your head. Obviously the fact that Ludwig was feeling guilt for past events was an understatement, and that was what was causing his dreams. So, to put it simply, you had to get rid of his guilt. How would you do that? Well, either convince Ludwig that none of it was his fault, or, make him forgive himself.

You began to voice this theory to the others, but your cut short by your husband.

"Vait, zere is one piece I haven't told you yet," he said.
"There is?" you asked.
"Ja, zere is anozer part to my dreams."
"Another part?" you question.
"Ve~ Germany! Don't tell me that-" asks Feli.
"(Name) is alvays zere in my dream," he states.

The three of you widen your eyes at him. Wait, what were you doing in his nightmares? Why was Ludwig dreaming about you in his past? You weren't alive that long, obviously.

Ludwig sat there quietly, looking at something very important on his shoes.

"I think I understand," Kiku said quietly. Ludwig and the rest of you look to him in question.
"Ludwig-san is afraid of hurting (Name)-san."

~momentary silence~

"...what?" you ask.
"It is very simple if you think about it. Ludwig hurt people in his past, correct? We all have. But Germany has done something that none of the rest of us have."
"What's that?" you ask.
"He has fallen in love with a human girl." whispers Japan as everyone's mind clicks.
"But, I don't understand. Why does that matter? How do I affect his dreams?"
"Actually, I was wrong. This has happened before. Once."
"With who?"
"France," answers Kiku softly, looking very sad. Somehow you don't notice that the other two's expressions' are also saddened at the mention of the flamboyant country.

"It did not end well. At all. To this day, France still feels guilty for dragging his beloved into the whole mess. Though I don't think it was really his fault, him being a country and her being human was definitely part of it."

"So," you ask, "he's subconsciously thinking that because of what we are, I'll end up getting hurt?"
"That's my guess," answers Kiku.
"We'll that's stupid!" you nearly shout. "Ludwig," you sit up on the sofa, "there's nothing to be afraid of. Just because one couple went wrong, doesn't mean anything with us will." He stares back at you, slightly surprised at your outburst.
"L-look, I don't really know too much about exactly what you are and how everything works yet, but if something goes wrong, we'll just be quick and stop it at the beginning, okay?" You put your hand over his and gently squeeze. His gaze meets yours and you smile warmly at each other.

"S-so cute! Group hug!" Italy runs to the both of you and squeezes you all together in a giant hug. Everyone laughs until Ludwig spots Kiku, who is quietly chuckling by himself. Ludwig grabs his wrist and pulls him into the hug, causing even more laughs to burst out from the group. The moment was perfect. Everyone was laughing, smiling, and together. The sun was starting to peek out from behind the curtains, and it felt like the world couldn't be any better.
